Fire Department

The Village of Arcade Fire Department was formed in November 1868 and was incorporated in July 1976.  The department is lead by Chief Tom Beiersdorf.  There are approximately 85 volunteer members, 28 emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and 5 advanced EMTs.

Located at 145 North Street in the Village, the Arcade Fire Department provides services to both the Village and Town of Arcade, as well as portions of the Town of Freedom.

The Arcade Fire Department is one of the busiest volunteer fire departments within Wyoming County responding to nearly 600 calls in 2008 and 620 in 2009.  The fire department proudly provides the primary source of fire protection and emergency medical services within the 120 square miles district.  Services also include high angle rope rescue, ice/water rescue, haz-mat response, search and rescue, and fire protection education for the community and area youth.

The current inventory of vehicles is as follows:

1990 Ford pumper/tanker
1990 Chevrolet tanker
1995 GMC pumper
2000 International pumper
2003 Ford ambulance
2004 Polaris ATV / off road fire / rescue trailer
