TOWN / VILLAGE ALL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN - The Town and Village of Arcade are preparing an UPDATE to the 2005 All Hazard Mitigation Plan. The purpose of the Update is to review the hazards that could occur in the Town or Village and then formulate a plan for preventing or minimizing damage from those various hazards. The Technical Committee (formed of various members of local industry and government agencies), has reviewed the hazards identified in the original Plan and will be developing mitigation strategies for the most severe. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, our Staff and those who serve on Village committees and boards, welcome to the Village of Arcade. The redesigned and updated village website (www.villageofarcade.org) is aimed at improving site navigation and making it easier for users to find resources and communicate with the village government. The Village of Arcade government is a five member Board, comprised of four trustees and led by the Mayor. Meetings are the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Village Office board room at 7:00pm. I urge you to attend and be a part of the decisions made in your community. Nestled in the southwest corner of the Town of Arcade, Wyoming County, New York and bordered on the west and south by the counties of Erie and Cattaraugus, encompassed by beautiful hills and valleys. Along with our 2026 residents (as of the 2000 census), we take particular pride in our efforts to preserve a small-town community atmosphere. Arcade has much to offer businesses, residents, and visitors. The principal station of the Arcade and Attica Railroad is located in the village at the junction of NYS Route 39 and NYS Route 98. Sit back and enjoy some of Wyoming County's charming countryside on a two hour excursion to the Curriers Depot, powered by its steam engine. We hope you will enjoy everything our Village has to offer, and will in turn contribute to its texture and well-being. We look forward to seeing you at our many community gatherings. Mayor Jay May |
