SPECIAL EVENTS – OVERTIME
The board reviewed a tentative schedule of events for Here Comes Summer to be held on June 17th –20th. The committee will be contacting various volunteer fire departments to solicit fire police to help with traffic control during the event. The committee felt that they would be able to make a donation to each fire department with revenues from the event. Chief Laird will put together the amount of manpower needed. The Arcade Fire Department will be discussing assisting with a second event at their meeting this week. Chief Laird stated that the Sheriffs Department would be charging for services this year but still does not have an amount. The board felt the committee had a lot of good ideas regarding the event. It was suggested that possibly the sand brought in for the volleyball courts could be donated to the school for a permanent area. Superintendent Kilburn will attend the next meeting to discuss where the electric needs will be. It would help with costs if the set-up was similar to the Fabulous 50’s.
