At a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Arcade, Wyoming County, New York held on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 6:00 P.M. there were:

Mayor Michael Doster, Trustee Ginger Comstock, Trustee Hugh Ely, Trustee Richard Kosmerl, Superintendent Larry Kilburn

Deputy Mayor Frank Wood
NOTICE
Pursuant to Article 7 of the Public Officers Law, notice of this meeting was published on the 28th day of March, 2002 and the same posted on the 25th day of March, 2002.
PLEDGE TO ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Doster opened the meeting with the Pledge to Allegiance.
TENTATIVE BUDGET
Motion was made by Mayor Doster and seconded by Trustee Kosmerl the board approve the tentative General Budget that will be presented at the Public Hearing set for April 9, 2002. The tentative tax rate has been set at $10.394 per thousand of assessed valuation. This represents a (4.9478%) increase over last year. The motion was approved upon the following vote:

Motion made by Trustee Kosmerl and seconded by Trustee Ely the board approve the Electric and Sewer Budgets as proposed and present the same at the Public Hearing set for April 9, 2002. There are no rate increases for electric or sewer. The motion was approved upon the following vote:

Motion made by Trustee Kosmerl and seconded by Trustee Comstock the board approve the Water Budget as proposed and present the same at the Public Hearing set for April 9, 2002. The Water Budget includes a rate increase of 20% for each base rate and a $.60 per 1,000 gallon rate increase for inside the village customers and $1.15 per 1,000 gallons for customers outside the village.
FILL WATER DEPARTMENT POSITION
Motion by Mayor Doster, seconded by Trustee Kosmerl and unanimously carried Todd Wittmeyer be moved to the Public Works Maintenance Helper in the Water Department effective April 1, 2002 at $13.82 per hour.
RAISES
Motion by Mayor Doster, seconded by Trustee Kosmerl and unanimously carried the following raises be given to the salaried employees effective June 1, 2002:
Superintendent Larry Kilburn 3.5%
Clerk-Treasurer Joanne Offers 3.5%
Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Janet Payne 3.5%
Chief of Police John Laird 3.5%
Motion by Trustee Kosmerl, seconded by Trustee Comstock and unanimously carried the following raises be granted:
Village Justice 3.5%
Acting Village Justice 3.5%
Village Prosecutor 3.5%
Court Clerk $1.01 (Village Portion)

There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m. upon motion by Mayor Doster and seconded by Trustee Comstock.
