At a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Arcade, Wyoming County, New York held on Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. there were:

PRESENT

Mayor Michael Doster, Deputy Mayor Frank Wood, Trustee Ginger Comstock, Trustee Richard Kosmerl, Superintendent Larry Kilburn

ALSO PRESENT

Police Chief John Laird 

NOTICE

Pursuant to Article 7 of the Public Officers Law, notice of this meeting was given to the media on the 8th day of January, 2002 and the same posted on the 8th day of January, 2002.

PLEDGE TO ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Doster opened the meeting with the Pledge to Allegiance.

MOMENT OF SILENCE

Mayor Doster called for a moment of silence in memory of Trustee Edward Barber who passed away suddenly last evening.

APPROVE MINUTES

Motion by Trustee Kosmerl, seconded by Mayor Doster and unanimously carried the word consumption be changed to consensus on the last line of the first page and under Permission to Advertise strike the word probably.

 Motion by Deputy Mayor Wood, seconded by Trustee Comstock and unanimously carried the minutes from a regular meeting held on January 2, 2001 be approved as presented  with the above addendum.   

ELECTION RESOLUTION

 The following resolution was offered by Trustee Kosmerl and seconded by Mayor Doster:

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees shall appoint two Inspectors of Elections and one alternate for the Village election to be held on March 19, 2002, and

WHEREAS, such Inspectors of Elections shall be paid a total of $100.00 each for preparation of the rolls and election day,

THEREFORE, Be It Resolved, that Janet Ely and Cheryl Parker be appointed as Inspectors of Election and Marjorie Harrison be appointed as an alternate.

The aforesaid resolution was adopted upon the following vote:

   Mayor Michael Doster  Aye

   Deputy Mayor Frank Wood Aye

   Trustee Ginger Comstock Aye

Trustee Richard Kosmerl  Aye

BANKING SERVICES

Motion by Mayor Doster, seconded by Deputy Mayor Wood and unanimously carried Clerk Offers be granted permission to switch all funds from M&T Bank to the Bank of Castile  as soon as possible to save the Village money on bank fees.

VILLAGE LIABILITY INSURANCE

Motion by Mayor Doster, seconded by Trustee Comstock and unanimously carried the Village put the liability insurance out to bide for the 2002-03 year.

BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS

Motion by Mayor Doster, seconded by Trustee Kosmerl and unanimously carried the following budget adjustment be approved as presented by the Clerk:

AUDIT BILLS

Motion by Deputy Mayor Wood, seconded by Mayor Doster and unanimously carried the Village bills be audited and paid and that the clerk be granted permission to transfer funds  from the money market accounts to the checking accounts to cover such bills.

REPORTS RECEIVED

Receipts and Disbursements report for the month of December was received, reviewed and placed on file.

Village Justice and Acting Village Justice reports for the month of December were received, reviewed and placed on file.

Fire Department reports for the months of November and December were received, reviewed and placed on file.

ADJOURN

In honor of the memory of Trustee Edward Barber motion was made by Mayor Doster, seconded by Deputy Mayor Wood and unanimously carried to table any further business until the  next regular board meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
